There are a multitude of reasons on why to go for WiFi. WiFi equipment are going for so cheap nowadays, that it makes sense to invest in a good wireless network, may it be at home or the office. And it makes perfect sense to make sure your laptop is WiFi enabled.
Why go WiFi, you ask? For me, the foremost reason is freedom. And by “freedom,” I mean free as in “free beer,” and “free” as in “freedom of mobility.”
WiFi enables users to roam about a hotspot without worrying about being tethered to a network with wires. The technology enables homeowners to set up a home network without the need to drill holes in the wall or lay out unsightly cables across the floor—same goes with office design planners. The freedom of mobility surely makes WiFi a necessity in today’s wired and unwired world.
WiFi also enables users to experience free services. What’s probably better than free beer is a free broadband wireless connection. And we see a rising trend in establishments and ISPs offering free WiFi access (in exchange for purchasing food/merchandise, or advertisements). This is very much a welcome development. Not only can you surf the Internet at the convenience of your favorite coffee bar, you get to surf for free!
So, Why Fi? For me, number one reason is freedom.
